Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan's Comment on the Opening of Checking Points on the Control Line of Kashmir by India and Pakistan
2005-11-02

Q:  It is reported that India and Pakistan recently agreed to temporarily open five check points along the control line in Kashmir, to facilitate the earthquake disaster relief. What's your comment?

A: We welcome and appreciate the joint decision on such a measure made by the Indian and Pakistani Governments through consultation. We believe this measure taken by the two sides will help increase their mutual trust and cooperation and further relax their relations.
