2005-02-15

Q: On Feb. 14th, an explosion happened in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, which killed 15 including the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, and injured more than 100. What's your comment? Are there any Chinese people wounded or dead in this explosion?

A: The Chinese side strongly condemns the explosion aimed at the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in Lebanon's capital Beirut. China expresses its condolences to the death of Hariri and its sincere sympathy to the families of Hariri and the other dead. We hope the explosion will not influence the security and stability in Lebanon.

To my knowledge, there are no Chinese people dead or injured.
