Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan's Remarks on the Serial Terrorist Explosions in Uzbekistan
2004-08-02

On July 30th, a series of terrorist explosions struck Tashkent, the Capital of Uzbekistan, causing civilian casualties. China is gravely concerned about the incident and strongly condemns the terrorist acts.

The Chinese Government is opposed to terrorism in any form. We will as always support the efforts of the Uzbekistan Government to combat terrorism, separatism and extremism. China believes that under the leadership of President Karimov, Uzbekistan will maintain social harmony and stability.
