|Wen Jiabao Concludes His Official Visit to Angola|
On June 21, 2006, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council left for South Africa by special plane to continue his African tour after concluding an official visit to Angola. Angolan Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos held a grand ceremony to see him off at the parking apron of the airport.
During the visit, Premier Wen held talks with Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos and both sides reaffirmed their readiness for closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest and exchanged views on the overall international situation and relevant issues.
Premier Wen conveyed an invitation from Chinese President Hu Jintao to President Jose Eduardo dos Santos to attend the China-Africa Cooperation Forum summit to be held in China in November and dos Santos accepted the invitation with pleasure. Premier Wen also met with Prime Minister Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
During the visit, Premier Wen visited the Luanda General Hospital, a social welfare project funded by China. Besides, Wen also called on the staff of the Chinese Embassy in Angola and representatives from Chinese-funded institutions.
Premier Wen arrived in Angola on June 20 on an official visit after concluding visits to Egypt, Ghana and the Republic of Congo. He will also visit South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
