Li Zhaoxing Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea Ban Ki-moon

On the evening of May 23, 2006, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, who was attending the fifth foreign ministers' meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Doha, capital of Qatar, met with Ban Ki-moon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea (ROK). Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues of common interest.

During the meeting, both sides indicated that they will make joint efforts to actively implement the consensus reached between the leaders of both countries in a bid to push for continuous development of bilateral comprehensive cooperative partnership.

On the evening of the same day, Li held friendly talks upon request with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Mongolian Foreign Minister Luvsangiin Erdenechuluun and Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid respectively. He also held a phone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand Surakiart Sathirathai upon request and both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations and other issues of common interest.
